This page describes the current CrewSchedule beta. Some features are still in development.
Get started
- Open Import in the app and paste the schedule text from your roster email.
- Review any questions before saving. Original schedules and later changes are kept separately.
- Open Getting started in Settings for optional iCloud sync, Calendar and email automation.
You can use the app locally without creating a CrewSchedule account. It reflects the information you import and save; confirm current operational instructions with your employer.
iCloud and your work device
Enable iCloud schedule sync in Settings on devices using the same Apple account. For a separate work account, use the guide to connect another Apple account. Connecting also shares import history and original schedule text. Use matching, current app versions.
We recommend publishing Calendar updates from your private phone and keeping Calendar export off on the work iPad. Your other devices can receive schedule changes directly through iCloud. Calendar updates may wait until the selected phone is available.
Sync appears delayed. What should I do?
Check internet access, the Apple account and sync status. Open the receiving app and try Sync now. Keep your local data; reinstalling is not the first troubleshooting step.
I am replacing my phone. What should I know?
Contact support before replacing the phone that publishes Calendar updates. The current beta does not yet have a complete guided flow for changing that phone and retaining Watch state.
Calendar and reminders
Allow Calendar access and select the calendars you want the app to use. Changes you make to its events may need review in CrewSchedule. Calendar and app data sync separately, so they can update at different times.
Notification permissions, Focus and system background scheduling affect reminders and widget updates. Turning off export does not automatically remove existing Calendar events.
Apple Watch and widgets
Use the Watch app with your paired phone and keep both apps updated. They can exchange schedule changes even when iCloud is off. Watch keeps its own saved copy.
What does the widget count down to?
The report countdown shows time until report. After report, it can continue to duty End while the absolute report time stays visible. Standby without report counts down to Start, then End. The timer uses saved times; it does not confirm that you have reported for duty.
The widget shows old information.
Open CrewSchedule on your phone and, if needed, on Watch. Check the day in the app, connectivity and that both apps are up to date. The system controls widget update timing.
Statistics and activity codes
Statistics describe saved schedules and starting values you supply. They do not verify actual attendance. Missing history affects the totals.
Unrecognized activity codes are displayed as supplied. You can propose a meaning and choose to share it; this does not automatically change classification.
Privacy and saved copies
Settings → Privacy and data explains the copies the app keeps. Turning off sync or disconnecting accounts does not erase existing copies in iCloud, on Watch, in other accounts or in exported files.
The current beta does not yet include complete local and synced erasure controls. Offloading keeps local data; deleting the app does not delete its iCloud data. Contact support for guidance. The developer cannot directly access or erase your private CloudKit database.
Contact support
Include your device, system version, app version/build, what you did, what happened and what you expected.
A cropped screenshot or a small anonymous example is usually enough. Check for personal or colleague information before sending a schedule or attachment.
